What is Enactus?

Enactus is an internationally recognized organization present across more than 2,000 university campuses spanning 35 diverse countries. At each campus, teams of students come together to create tangible, sustainable social enterprises, and subsequently demonstrate the positive effects they have had on individuals, the environment, and economic well-being through a series of competitive events.

Our Team

President - Kirsten Lawrence

Enactus Acadia 2022-Present

Kirsten is a fourth-year business student at Acadia University, majoring in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. She is a leader in the business school, with roles as the Entrepreneur-In-Residence for The Path, a student start up incubator, Innovation Lead for the entrepreneurial program, Launchbox, and as VP Marketing for the Acadia Business Society. As President of Enactus Acadia, a social entrepreneurship group focused on creating positive impact in the community through innovation, she has led the development of multiple initiatives which have earned recognition at regional and national competitions. Kirsten is actively engaged in building entrepreneurial and experiential learning experiences for students, as well as developing initiatives that tackle community issues including food insecurity.As a Co-op student, Kirsten has gained experience working in marketing and business development roles within two economic development agencies in Nova Scotia, and as an Impact Consultant with Common Good Solutions. In these roles, she has worked hands on with local small businesses, non-profits, and innovative social enterprises on projects including marketing strategies, business plans, and impact measurement.This year, Kirsten was awarded the Frank H. Sobey award for Excellence in Business Studies, an Enactus Canada HSBC Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Award, and the F.C Manning School of Business Advisory Board Impact Award.

Community Enagement Coordinator - Amber Brown

Enactus Acadia 2022-Preent

Amber is a second-year business student at Acadia University , majoring in Employment Relations. As the Community Engagement Coordinator for Enactus Acadia, a social entrepreneurship group focused on creating positive impact in the community through innovation, she is responsible for securing all funding opportunities for the team for competition and development use. Amber is passionate about equality and ensuring that everyone has access to life's necessities. As a Co-op student, Amber plans to gain valuable Human Resource experience with local companies, in hopes to pursue a future career as a Human Resource Officer, before pursuing Law School later in life.  

VP of Competitions - Dawson McCulloch

Enactus Acadia 2022-Present

Dawson is a second-year business student majoring in entrepreneurship and innovation. He is from Port Williams, Nova Scotia, and is interested in small business development and the outdoors. He currently runs a landscaping business operating in the valley and surrounding areas, which has been operational for four years. Dawson is the VP of Competitions for Enactus, meaning he oversees the planning, preparation, and execution of our regional and national competitions.

Marketing Coordinator - Angel Morley

Enactus Acadia 2022-Present

Angel Morley is a fourth-year Business Administration student at Acadia University, specializing in Marketing. As the Marketing Coordinator for Enactus Acadia, a group dedicated to social entrepreneurship, Angel plays a key role in developing marketing strategies to promote the group's community-focused initiatives. With a passion for marketing and its potential for positive impact, Angel balances their academic pursuits with hands-on experience in their role. After graduation, Angel aims to pursue an MBA and advance in the corporate marketing field, with long-term aspirations of significant contributions to the industry.

Head of Research - Rowan Norrad

Enactus Acadia 2022-Present

Rowan Norrad, hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, holds the position of head of research for Enactus Acadia. Rowan Is a second year environmental science major at Acadia. Rowan’s journey into the sciences commenced during high school, when he began volunteering for the New Brunswick Museum in the field of paleontology. Rowan has contributed to the collection of over 500 specimens now housed in the New Brunswick Museum archives, identified and named two new species, and authored two research articles published in peer-reviewed journals. His interest extends beyond environmental change to the necessary systemic social changes which precede success in achieving climate goals. Rowan joined Enactus in his first year and now, moving into the second year, Rowan will continue to research ways to integrate his scientific background to Enactus. Additionally, Rowan serves as the lead writer for presentation scripts this year.

October 2022 – Enactus Acadia recruits its first Faculty Advisor, Ashley Doyle!
November 2022 – Launch our first pilot of our project, Foodsharing
February 2023 – Hosted the first Enactus Student Entrepreneurship Case Competition
February 2023 – Enactus team hosts a campus clean up day
March 2023 – Attending our first Regional Exposition as a team in Halifax Winning 2nd in TD Entrepreneurship Challenge & 3rd in Scotiabank Climate Action
May 2023 – Attending the National Exposition in Montreal, President, Kirsten wins HSBC Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Award
June 2023 – Enactus Acadia Leadership team completes strategic planning for long term success
